Rebecca’s Dress Journey at AH
Our wonderful real bride Rebecca came to visit our showroom in early 2020 and confirmed a beautiful bespoke dress design with us. A concept that was based on our Clarice silk slip dress with a customised separate organza top. The idea was to create a bloused sheer sleeve, delicate fluted cuff and a wrap over tie fastening. Due to lockdown and our brides changing dates we reached out to find out Rebecca’s plans for the big day. We very excitingly learnt that Rebecca had decided to go ahead with a more intimate style wedding on their original date in September. This special day was captured by Bert Palmer.
Andrea and our team then guided Rebecca over video call during that time to support through the next steps remotely whilst we were working from home over this period.
Rebecca’s dress was a more customised piece with a bespoke top so it was really important that we had the design exactly right. Andrea liaised with Rebecca over this time to confirm all the design details such as sleeve proportions, the wrap over styling of the top & fabrics. We also wanted to make sure Rebecca was happy and comfortable with her dress elements and that they were suitable for a more intimate wedding.
Measurements were taken remotely and a toile/prototype was made ready to for Rebecca to try once we re-opened our studio. In July we carried out the toile fitting to confirm the final details and for Rebecca to see her bespoke top prior to us finalising in silk. The design was beautiful and everyone was really excited to see the idea come to life. We proceeded with a silk fitting and final fitting on a much shorter timescale to make sure the dress was perfect for Rebecca’s big day.
We loved working with Rebecca over this time and were so thrilled to see these wonderful images! A truly lovely example of teamwork, communication and trust during a challenging time.
