“Choosing a wedding dress is a daunting task, choosing a wedding dress as a plus size woman is even more daunting. Always expecting limited choices, if any, in uninviting corners of clothes stores – I was convinced I would have to settle. However, scrolling through Instagram one evening, the algorithm was on my side and I stumbled across Andrea Hawkes Bridal. Elegant, modern, and minimalist designs, I looked through their Instagram wide eyed. A small business based in North London, all designs made in house, plus size available, and they plant a tree for every bride – sounded too good to be true, but it wasn’t.

From my first appointment to my final fitting, the AHB team provided a wonderful service. Warm, attentive and patient. The AHB studio is calm and has aircon; a cool refuge from the real world, summer heat, and the lengthy list of mounting wedmin. If you are looking for a bridal studio that provides a high quality personal service without being intimidating – this is it.

In my final fitting I didn’t want to take my wedding dress off, I felt beautiful and confident, but most importantly, I still felt like myself. I received countless compliments about my dress on our wedding day and our family and friends continue to tell me how gorgeous the dress was.
